# Aiqbee Launches VS Code Extension in Public Beta, Bringing AI Knowledge Graphs to the Developer Desktop

Aiqbee, the enterprise AI memory platform, today announced the public beta release of the Aiqbee MCP Brains extension for Visual Studio Code. The extension allows developers to browse, search, and visualise their organisation's AI knowledge graphs — called Brains — directly from the VS Code sidebar, and connect them to AI coding assistants with a single click.

The extension is available now on the Visual Studio Code Marketplace under the ID aiqbee.aiqbee-mcp-brains. It is MIT licensed and free for all Aiqbee users, including those on the free trial.

###### "Developers spend their days in the editor. Switching to a browser to find the right Brain and copy an MCP URL is friction that adds up. This extension removes that friction entirely — you can browse your knowledge graphs and connect your AI tools without leaving VS Code."

— Sean Davidson, CEO and Co-founder of Aiqbee

##### Key Features

- Browse all accessible Brains in a dedicated sidebar with access level badges and live neuron counts
- Visualise knowledge graphs in a force-directed canvas view — click neurons to view and edit content
- One-click MCP configuration for Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code Copilot — no manual JSON editing
- 13 built-in developer prompts for common workflows, with copy buttons
- Authentication via Microsoft Entra, Google, or email — tokens stored in the OS keychain via VS Code SecretStorage
- Create new Brains from templates without leaving the editor

##### One-Click MCP for Every AI Tool

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that connects AI tools to external data sources. Aiqbee's MCP server exposes over 17 tools that let AI assistants search, read, create, and manage knowledge. The VS Code extension generates the correct MCP configuration file for the developer's tool of choice: .mcp.json for Claude Code, .cursor/mcp.json for Cursor, or .vscode/mcp.json for VS Code Copilot.

A typical 50-neuron Brain saves roughly 25,000 tokens of restated context per conversation. Rather than pasting architecture documents and coding conventions into every AI session, the Brain serves that context through MCP. When someone on the team edits a neuron, every connected AI tool picks up the change straight away.

##### Built for Developer Teams

The extension supports team workflows: marketing adds a requirement via the Aiqbee web app, and a developer's AI coding assistant picks it up immediately via MCP. There is no commit/merge cycle for knowledge updates and no risk of stale documentation in source control.

Together with Aiqbee's recently launched service accounts, which provide OAuth2 client credentials for CI/CD pipelines, bots, and headless agents, the extension rounds out the developer toolchain for connecting AI workflows to organisational knowledge.

##### Availability

The Aiqbee MCP Brains extension is available now in public beta on the Visual Studio Code Marketplace. It works with any Aiqbee subscription, including the 30-day free trial. The extension is MIT licensed.
